The net is crowded, there are millions of bands out there trying to get a break. Lots of them make decent music and do a few gigs every year. What is it that makes your band special, why will you get known?
Your music is of course unique and if you get enough people to hear it, at least a few will like it. and if you get millions to listen to your best song, lots will like it. How do you get them to hear it then? There are a few ways you can do this:
You need to be visible on MySpace
A good profile isn't enough, you must work hard to get people to look at it and hear your songs. You need to allow downloading of your songs so they can play them for others.
You need to be visible on GoogleYou need people to link to your site so that Google believes it is important. You need search engine optimization
You need to be visible on all those music sitesYou need to add a profile of your band on every stinking music site
And you need to advertiseGetting people to find your site isn't free any more. Lots and lots try this but it just isn't possible, at least not if you want a decent chance
